The use of 5G frequency, who had his first call yesterday, coming from the telephone operator UNITEL, is something that involves developing skills and training staff, according to the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Manuel Homem.

"Opportunities do not stop there, since having 5G implies developing skills and training staff to support this entire process, whether for operators, supplier companies, but also in new connected businesses to the technological innovation that 5G has boosted".

Manuel Homem uttered the above words at the attribution of the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM) of titles for the use of frequencies for the implementation of 5G technology for electronic communications operators Africell, Movicel and Unitel, and where he reinforced that the “Executive will develop follow-up, training and adoption programs for 5G technology to position the country in the new technological generation that intends to revolutionize the information and knowledge society" said.

Held at INACOM's premises, and with the presence of the editorial staff of MenosFios, the official ceremony of handing over the right to use 5G is supported by Presidential Decree nº200/21 of 23 November, which enshrines the assignment of the 3.3 frequency band -3.7 GHz to land mobile telephony service, especially for the development of 5G technology which in 2021 is driven by the need to ensure continuous improvement in the provision of telecommunications services.

It should also be noted that the attribution of these titles to these three operators, the Angolan Government intends to guarantee that investments in terms of telecommunications infrastructures are in line with the technological evolution that the world observes, and also takes into account the need to guarantee the sustainability of the means, with a fundamental focus on guaranteeing a better provision of services to the population.
