O moza bank, being one of the main banks in Mozambique, will continue to focus on promoting financial inclusion and digital transformation in the country, according to its Institutional and Protocols Director, Octávio Muthemba.

Speaking in an interview with KABUM DIGITAL magazine, the person responsible informs that Moza has adopted a strategy that is based on the democratization of access to its financial services, with emphasis on a strong technological component that is also guiding the internal transformation of the bank itself.

Therefore, and taking into account the challenges relating to the expansion and simplification of the banking network in Mozambique, Octávio Muthemba reinforces that Moza called for digital innovation with the implementation of some pioneering solutions in the country.

The solutions found include the implementation of digital kiosks or self-service terminals in public service institutions in 2015.

BUT: Moza Banco wants to facilitate transactions in Mozambique through digital payments

"The National Migration Service (SENAM) was the first State institution at national level to host Moza kiosks on its premises to process payment for the various fees related to the services it provides to the public, such as issuing and renewing passports, issuing and DIRE renewal, visa issuance, among others", said.

The person in charge also highlights that “the kiosks allow users to pay for services, by card or cash, through the use of an intuitive interface without interaction with the institution's employees, avoiding long service queues and providing a greater degree of reliability in transactions carried out using cash resources”.

As it is the only bank with the majority of its capital entirely Mozambican, the manager highlights that Moza carries an even greater responsibility in terms of promoting financial inclusion, resulting in more and more Mozambicans being associated with the financial system.

Octávio Muthemba reinforces that the challenge is even more acute, given that currently only around 30% of the Mozambican population has bank accounts.
