Mozambique: Digital works of art and NFTs gain space with the first virtual art gallery in the country

Feima Digital is the newest and the first digital art gallery in Mozambique, which encompasses a cycle of contemporary art throughout the country and in addition to being a “refuge” for tourists who were unable to visit the Indian Pearl in the last two years, created by a company with Mozambican capital and young people with interests in the area of ​​technology, art, culture and fashion.

The web platform that was created in times of a pandemic, has in its range plastic arts, decoration and fashion items, sculptures and more than 100 pieces that highlight the materials used in the works, such as blackwood and sandalwood, beads, cans, among others.

According to what was released, and in order to keep up with the evolution of the market, the gallery is also preparing the transformation of several pieces of art into NFTs, with the aim of making more than 1000 available on its platform by the end of this year.

"With this project we intend to diversify the sources of income of partner artists and take Mozambique to other levels in the world of art”, said Hélio Macarrala, project director.

"In the future, the works that will be purchased in the NFT version will also be sent in physical format, in order to complement the entire experience of our customers.”, added the director, reinforcing that the objective is “empower the nation's artistic community and make Feima an African reference in the art world".
