Mozambique: Tmcel begins second phase of modernization of its network

Telephone operator Moçambique Telecom (Tmcel) last week started the second phase of implementation of the project to modernize and expand its network, reveals the newspaper O País.

According to information, this second phase consists of a modernization and expansion of the mobile network, with the introduction of new equipment (2G and 3G), and the introduction of 4G and 4.5G technology throughout the country, as well as the modernization and increase in the capacity of the entire transmission backbone (Backbone).

This implementation of this Tmcel project is expected to be concluded in 2023, and its completion will allow for the expansion of coverage and improvement of the quality of Tmcel's network, specifically with regard to voice and data services, as well as an increase in capacity and availability of services provided to customers.
