O Multicaixa Express, which is the main interbank payment application in Angola, where it brings together several ATM cards to the mobile phone number, reached 338 million operations and handled 4,9 billion kwanzas, according to the latest data provided by the Interbank Service Company (EMIS) .
With these figures, which were released in reference to the 20th anniversary of the Multicaixa Network, which took place last Monday (18), Express thus becomes more significant for Angolan civil society than ATMs and Payment Terminals Automatic (TPA). According to EMIS, more than 500 users use the application, which is committed to maintaining the growth of the network in order to achieve full dematerialization of payments.
On the other hand, ATMs carried out, in the same period, 373 million operations, handling more than 6,8 billion kwanzas, while TPA carried out 308 million operations and movements of 4,3 billion of kwanzas.
The Multicaixa network currently has around 3.200 ATMs and more than 140 TPAs, distributed throughout the national territory.

It should be noted that EMIS started by issuing the first Multicaixa debit cards and installing the first Automated Teller Machines in Angola to enable the provision of more basic services, such as dispensing cash and currently works as a lever in the digitalization process of payments in Angola .
Still in the history of its services, through an official communiqué, EMIS explains that the need to streamline electronic payments accelerated the introduction of bank transfers, the implementation of service payments and top-ups, thus allowing electronic communications operators to make their services on the network.
It adds that the acceptance and trust in the Multicaixa network has resulted in its growth and with it the offer of modern and innovative services, providing numerous functionalities such as cash withdrawals, bank transfers, service payments, payments to the State and other payments such as the account consumption of water and electricity, with a record of more than 90 million operations per month.
