Nigerian 12 year-old builds app to help lost kids

One year old 12 girl named Tomisin Ogunnubi in Lagos, in the Niga © ria, created a location app that helps lost children find their way home- “My Locator"

My Locator, is a tracking application that works on the system Android, which was guided by an Information Technology and Communications partnership between its school, Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls and New Horizons Computer Learning Center. Where the Tomision girl was able to learn the skills and knowledge needed to develop her application.

The application is available for free download in Lagos, Nigeria.

My Locator it is free, it allows the child to see exactly where it is, as well as highlight the surrounding streets around it and it also allows you to save a place, such as your home or school, and with that, you can direct it to the desired place.

The My Locator application also has a button that, when pressed, will alert Emergency Services in Lagos State and show the child's location so that it can be helped.
