A Nike and the NBA (which represents the North American League of Basques) announced last Friday, a news that will change the way basketball fans follow the games.

Through the new system NikeConnect embedded on the NBA shirts label, fans can get exclusive content such as highlights, video recaptions and game day images related to the player and team associated with the jersey.

The technology is available in both versions of the Nike shirts, and fans can take advantage of this new feature just by scanning the code with a smartphone through the application NikeConnect available for iPhone and Android devices with NFC capability. A NikePlus account is also required to connect.

Exclusive offers are also being planned, such as player launches, player tickets and Spotify playlists, as well as access to player statistics, game results and a countdown to the beginning of each game.

In addition, for those who play NBA2K18, when scanning a player's shirt it will give an “impulse” code that will make that player better in the video game.

"Our Nike uniforms set a new standard for connecting our most passionate fans with their favorite NBA teams and players," said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver in the league's official press release. "Nike once again took the game of basketball to a new level, this time with one of the most advanced shirts in the sport."

The new Nike jerseys will be available globally in September 29, priced between 100 and 200 USD, depending on the shirt version.
