For lovers of the social network Twitter, here is a new feature that is now available: “soft block".
This functionality will serve to define a type of block on social networks that is “softer” than the definitive cut with a certain person, and where Twitter proposes to extend the possibility of removing followers to the entire community.
So, from now on it is possible to remove a follower on Twitter without blocking it, according to the platform, in an official twitter: “We're making it easier for you to curate your own list of followers. Now testing on the web: remove a follower without blocking it."
To take advantage of this new feature, just go to your profile and enter the dedicated followers tab. Then, just click on the ellipsis icon and select the option “Remove this follower”.
BUT: Nigeria "temporarily" lifts the ban on Twitter in the country
Followers who are removed through this feature will not be informed of this and this is also why this option is known as “soft block” – avoids hurting susceptibilities. In addition, the removed person is still able to view the shared content, retains the ability to send private messages and can also re-follow the user in question.
