As it is already known, in iOS 6 Apple will remove the applications Maps e YouTube thus disconnecting from the dependence of the content of others, read Google. Knowing this Google went ahead, and before the launch of the iPhone 5 and we all know the launch date of iOS 6, launched its new official YouTube app before Apple removed its Youtube app from iOS.
When things change, we all expect them to be for the better, and in this case the change was, but with some limitations we will see later.
The start page of the new app is relatively similar to the previous one showing the highlights of Youtube videos. We have 2 buttons on the top, one of them opens a tab on the right where we find our account and the channels that we have and another one on the left that is the search button. In our account we can have access to our playlists, our videos, history, favorites and more. We can change our settings and see our favorite channels, like the Vevo videos that were already missing. About the search it is very intuitive with the automatic filling of suggestions in the search by text and now there is also the possibility of searching by voice.
In viewing the videos now more options, a greater possibility of sharing the video by the usual suspicious platforms, such as Google+, Facebook, Twitter and others, add videos to watch later, add to favorites, add to playlist (option that at least me was missing in the last app), etc.
But like I said, it's not all roses. The quality of the videos has improved greatly because it seems that all videos are played at their best quality, making the videos more lush than the previous app that seems to have a different approach, perhaps because of 3G networks. The problem with this new app is that we can not change the quality of the video (at least we did not find it, because in the app description it says there is this option). For our speeds, to see a relatively good video and without interruptions, we would need to lower the quality for 240p or 360p, but unfortunately we could not. And for those who have an AppTv, when making the stream we hear only the sound and not the image, which is bad.
For those who own Android, there is no news of bigger here, because the app for iPhone is similar, but for those who used the iPhone is a qualitative leap. It remains for us now to wait to see if Google will also make an app for Maps, following the same strategy.
