Not just smartphones live Samsung. In fact, Samsung is successful in other segments. One is that of smart TVs, in which the South Korean company has been struggling to invest and innovate.
For 2018 Samsung decided to present its new line of smart TVs QLED of 2018:
Model | Type | Dimension (inches) |
Q9F | Plana | 65 ″, 75 ″ and 88 ″ |
Q8F | Plana | 55 ″, 65 ″ and 75 ″ |
Q7C | Curve | 55 "and 65" |
Q7F | Plana | 55 ″, 65 ″ and 75 ″ |
Q6F | Plana | 49 ″, 55 ″, 65 ″, 75 ″ and 82 ″ |
What's new?
The new TVs should be useful even when they are off. The devices have a “sleep” mode that serves to display information, such as time and weather.
For those who hate wires in the room, an interesting novelty is the One Connect, a transparent cable that connects the TV to the socket and external devices. It is just an “invisible” cable of up to 15 meters that will carry energy and data to the TV.
TVs that camouflage
During the presentation, Samsung showed how TVs have “camouflage” technology, simulating the texture of the wall to make the TV look exactly like the home decor.
How Does Camouflage Work?
The user takes a photo of where the TV will stay and sends it to the Samsung application. Then it's relaxing and letting the TV do its job by altering the background image in a way that is similar to the decor of the house.
Bixby on TVs
The TVs are compatible with the Bixby virtual assistant, which was exclusive to South Korean company smartphones. Now you can use voice commands to increase volume, change channels, and other commands associated with controlling smart devices in the home.
TVs can also function as a visual control panel for the ecosystem SmartThings of connected devices such as cameras, thermostats, lights, and more.
Samsung has not revealed the prices of new smart TVs, but it is expected that by April sales will happen.
