Samsung was hit by a cyberattack in late July. Personal information of US customers was also stolen. The extent of damage is unknown. The notice shows that Samsung had to deal with a hacking attack in July. During the attack, hackers managed to steal personal information from US customers.

Exactly how the attack was not publicized. And it was also not disclosed how much data was stolen. According to Samsung, these are names, contacts, dates of birth and product registration information. Important personal data such as social security numbers (American system similar to citizen service numbers) would not have been stolen. Furthermore, the endpoints are not compromised.
