Snapchat's various location-based filters have become one of the service highlights. In the beginning, filters were used to mark large cities (usually attractive for tourism), but now, any neighborhood or area, no matter how small, can be represented.

Now, Snapchat has decided to expand its filter submission program in an attempt to earn more revenue: users can pay to have a temporary “geofilter” for an event. For the first time, brands and companies can present a filter with their logos.

Coverage area:

Filters temporarily paid for a private event. As such, they can be confined to much smaller areas for more specific amounts of time. The minimum area starts at 6 km, similar to the size of the city of Kilamba. But the user can expand this dimension up to 1500 km, which is enough to cover a city.

As for deadlines, you can have the filter for an hour or even 30 days.

Pricing
These more customizable filters are not free, they start at 5 USD and increase, depending on the duration and size of the demarcated area.

It is an interesting business strategy, so companies can advertise in specific areas, reaching the right group.
