The Pan-African ProgramInvest in Innovation” i3, supported by the Gates Foundation, announced that in 2022 it will fund more than 30 African health startups, in order to have an online access and nteworking to the top global ecosystem in the health industry.

The program, which will have a fund of US$7 million, where each startup will receive US$50.000 that year, will last for two years, with all projects selected for funding having to be linked to the health area in Africa.

This funding comes due to the recent report by the Moroccan consulting firm Southbridge A&I and its Canadian subsidiary Salient Advisory, which showed the great financial difficulties faced by African startups in the health sector.

With regard to accessibility, quality, availability or transparency of health supply chains, i3 will seek to discover founders start-up or growth-stage innovators across the African continent who can have a real impact on public health in their countries.
