Twitter launches limited editing of tweets

After a long period of testing, the Twitter is finally starting to make available the new option for editing Tweets.

As is known, this feature will reach Twitter Blue users first, and according to the platform, it will be available from the next few days to users in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The company also stresses that it will become available in the US “soon”, but without providing details of when this will happen.

During the past week, Twitter revealed a little bit of how this system would work, having published an edited tweet on the platform, which appears with the icon of having been modified after being published. Furthermore, users can check the history of changes made at any time.

For now, users will only have 30 minutes after publishing the tweet to edit it, if they deem it necessary. The company underlines that this will be to avoid possible cases of abuse or misinformation – and, as previously mentioned, all changes are recorded.

Twitter has been promising this feature for some time, but it looks like it's finally ready to reach consumers. It is also one of the most requested features on the platform in recent years, although it still arrives in a very limited way.

Contrary to what happens on other platforms, only Twitter Blue users will have access to it, and even they can only edit messages for 30 minutes.
