Windows XP is one of the most used Microsoft operating systems in the world (this is if it is not the most used).

XP lifecycle and its Service Packs
Even after the launch of Windows Vista from December 2008 to January 2009, Windows XP was available on the market for a period of 12 to 24 months. On April 14, 2009, Microsoft extended the support period for Windows XP until 2014. However, in January 2014, Microsoft stated in its Blog that Microsoft's Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware programs such as Microsoft Security Essentials will be supported with Windows XP until July 2015.
