BUT: Microsoft is top target in cybercriminal phishing attacks

In an official statement, the Swedish company provided information about the attack it suffered, although it did not fully detail the cyber attack.

"Volvo Cars has become aware that one of its file repositories has been illegally accessed by a third party. Investigations so far confirm that a limited amount of the company's R&D property was stolen during the break-in. Volvo Cars concluded earlier today, based on available information, that there may be an impact on the company's operation. After detecting unauthorized access, the company immediately implemented security countermeasures, including measures to prevent further access to its property, and notified the relevant authorities. Volvo Cars conducts its own investigation and works with experts from third parties to investigate property theft. The company does not see, with the information currently available, that this has an impact on the safety or protection of its customers' cars or on their personal data."
