WhatsApp passes 500 Millions of active users

Who does not remember that it was in February this year that WhatsApp announced that it had 300 millions of active users, of which, 100 million joined the service in December last year.

So far in our country the WhatsApp has already become the fever for all young people and is replacing the native messaging application of our Smartphones.

This week company announced that it has passed the mark of 500 millions of active users.

The company also revealed that its users now share 700 million photos and 100 million videos per day. According to revelations from the CEO of WhatsappJan Koum, the service has grown faster in recent months in countries like Brazil, India, Mexico and Russia. In other words, emerging markets and countries with large populations are helping to expand the messaging platform quickly.

Since its sale to Facebook, worth 19 Billion USD, the company has continued to grow and at the same time Whataspp has been the target of criticism for privacy reasons and also for having suffered a prolonged fall that benefited rival applications like Telegram and Line.
