Satellite television operators ZAP e DSTV had a drop in the number of subscribers - about 179 thousand customers during 2019, based on data released by Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM).

INACOM data shows that in 2018 there were 1.838.621 pay-TV subscribers and in the second quarter of 2019 this number dropped to 1.659.054 customers. Accounts made, in six months the pay television operators lost almost 180 thousand customers.

2019 broke the upward trend in the number of customers of satellite television operators.

The recent changes in the prices of the operators' packages end up being the reasons for many people to stop being customers of the operators mentioned above. And further changes in tariff prices are expected during the current year, which could further reduce customers to operators.

History shows that the largest growth in the number of satellite television subscribers took place from 2017 to 2018, a period in which it went from 1,4 million customers to 1,8 million. In the following year, that is, 2019, the number of customers dropped to 1,6 million.
