If you've ever had an experience with a movie, game, or even HD video, whether 720p or 1080p should know that the picture quality is absolutely incredible, not to mention that it does not lose as much quality when played on huge screens. HD resolutions conventional they are excellent but that didn’t stop certain researchers from stopping there, they wanted more, that's why Ultra HD came about.
ULTRA WHAT? HD IS SUFFICIENT NOW
Previously the SD resolution was also sufficient for some, but for others not so much. But the need to present a sharp and close-up image of what we get with the eyes spoke louder at that point and speaks louder now why the Japanese broadcast network, NHK conceived a video format known as Ultra HD.
Currently subdivided into 2 formats, the first one is 2160P better known as 4K which is twice the Full HD and the second video format is 4320p better known as 8K.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
As already mentioned above, the 4K and 8K formats are considered Ultra HD
- 4K UHD (2160p) - Has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 (8.3 megapixels), this means that it has 4 times more pixels than Full-HD (1920 x 1080, 2.1 megapixels).
- 8K UHD (4320p) - It has a resolution of 7680 x 4320 (33.2 megapixels), equivalent to 16 times more pixels than Full-HD.
If you ever get dazzled by a video in high definition imagine another with 16 times more quality, it is surreal. Just to get an idea analyze the image above illustrating the difference in the proportions between Full HD and Ultra HD.
WHERE DOES THE GAMES FIT?
The world of video games a lot that has accompanied the evolution of resolutions and video formats, and that is why it was so much speculated that the new generation would come with support for Ultra HD technology and the same eventually happened, PS4 and Xbox One support the 4K format. What does this mean? This means that the next generation games with the 4K video format have an even greater level of graphic detail and can be played on huge screens without losing the graphic quality.
