An IXP (Internet Exchange Point) is an exchange point that allows the interconnection of autonomous networks as well as the exchange of data and content traffic between them, and Angola IXP is no exception, as it is a unique platform for participants to share routes and information within the Parents.

AAPSI (Angola Association of Internet Service Providers) in partnership with ITA (Internet Technologies Angola, SA), a telecommunications operator, today activated the new Internet interconnection node in Angola, called Angola IXP.

O AAPSI's new Internet Exchange Point connection node, in addition to contributing to the construction of a robust communications infrastructure in the country, improves the exchange, interconnection and exchange of data between the networks of operators and entities that provide digital content, providing to the Internet community in Angola excellent accommodation, security and connectivity conditions for the Angola IXP node. For AAPSI, it is an opportunity that has improved communication conditions between telecommunications operators, and that will bring technical and economic benefits to Angola and the entire Internet community, says Eng Silvio Almada, President of AAPSI.

The network sharing feature underlying the new IXP will bring technical and economic benefits to the Internet community and to Angola in general, such as dynamizing connectivity, greater capacity and redundancy for national and international connections. Essential prerequisites that contribute to the goal of transforming Angola into a data HUB in Africa.
