The Techcrunch team has organized in recent years, events to find entrepreneurs with innovative projects. Africa is one of the obligatory stops and has now been announced the search for the best startups in sub-Saharan Africa

Lagos (Nigeria) was the chosen city to host the second competition Startup Battlefield Africa on 11's December 2018 day.

According to an official Techcrunch note:
We are looking for the best innovators, manufacturers and technical entrepreneurs from Sub-Saharan Africa to participate in this year's TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Africa. We are looking for startups most likely to be able to make the “leap” or have an IPO…

Jurors will choose a winner, "Most Promising Startup in Sub-Saharan Africa," whose founders will win $ 25.000, plus a trip for two to compete in Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch's main event, Disrupt on 2019

Startups eligibility conditions:

  • Being an early stage company in the “launch” stage
  • Being based in one of our eligible countries
  • Have a product / beta fully functional or reasonably close to the model for production
  • Having received limited advertising or publicity so far
  • No known intellectual property conflicts

Entries for this contest can be made directly on the official website. Entries will end on 3 on September 2018.

Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique and São Tomé are among the countries eligible to participate in the competition.
