Angola Cables with new project called “Acelera Net”

Angola Cables, the Angolan telecommunications multinational operating in the wholesale market and dedicated to the exploration and sale of capacity in international data circuits and IP Trânsito, recently presented, in Luanda, its most recent accelerator program for Internet Service Providers , called Accelerates Net.

According to the CEO of Angola Cables, Engineer Ângelo Gama, Acelera Net is a program that will streamline and standardize internet access throughout the country, with a view to empowering small and large companies operating in Angola and that want to be providers of services. Internet, which Ângelo Gama classified as “ISP's Startups”. The Startups, said the Engineer, will undergo a selection process, and then a training process in the areas of business management and technologies, which will be provided by Angola Cables, with the participation of partners linked to Banking, Telecommunications and Internet.

In this context, the program also aims to leverage the digital economy, as forecasts indicate that the digital market in Africa will move around 180 million dollars by 2025 and more than 700 billion dollars by 2050. The data presented at this ceremony advances even though, if internet access increases, up to 5% of the population in Africa could be creating up to 44 million new jobs.

What is needed to apply for the program?

To apply for the Acelera Net Program, all that is required is to be a small or medium-sized telecommunications company, which fits the requirements understood as being Angolan; be licensed by INACOM (Instituto Angolano das Comunicações); preferably having an operation outside Luanda and presenting an innovative business plan.
