Angola has doubled the number of internet users in the last two years, which only shows that the country has been making great strides in the area of digitization, according to Multipla's CEO, José Assis.

The manager who spoke about the panorama of the Digital Economy in Angola in the 2022 edition of Angola Innovation Summit (AiS), reported that of the 35 million inhabitants, 12 million are connected to the internet, which means that in 2022 the number of users doubled compared to 2019.

"The internet has been growing in Angola since 2012 at a geometric speed“, said the PCA.

According to José de Assis, Angola currently has the cloud service fully operational, with three types of infrastructure: Internet, data center e cloud services🇧🇷 These services, in the expert's opinion, are fundamental for the digital economy to function in the country.

Another piece of information highlighted by Multipla's PCA is the data center infrastructure and service. Companies present in the country have chosen to make investments in these areas that are important for the digital business to be growing.

BUT: Only 21 out of 100 people in Angola use the internet

Angola has seven data centers for the public service, all of which are located in the country's capital, Luanda. José de Assis hopes that the growth of the market and the national economy will soon have data centers in other provinces.

About the clouds, to inform that at the moment the country has 3 clouds, the hybrid that joins the public with the private; the private cloud, which are companies that often use internal services to connect; and the public cloud, computer application used by each individual.

Of all these clouds in Angola, Multipla, Paratus and Angola Cables, which provide the Angolan market with opportunities for companies to provide services and allow all businesses to be located in Angola instead of being outside.

"Without the cloud there is no digital economy, data centers, internet infrastructures and other services mentioned here have a digital economy component. We have several companies that actively provide services and many people have access to and trade their products", finished
