Angola present at the World Telecommunications Development Conference

An Angolan delegation participates, from last Monday until the 16th of this month, in the World Telecommunications Development Conference – WTDC 2022, in the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, headed by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira.

The event that takes place in physical format with the theme “Connecting the disconnected to achieve sustainable development”, organized by WTDC, is a unique opportunity to develop innovative approaches and new collaboration models for connectivity and digital solutions, in this last decade of action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as represents an unmissable opportunity to provide the power of the digital partnership to deliver on sustainable development promises for 2030.

The national delegation is made up of high-level officials from the ministries of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Foreign Affairs (MIREX) and the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM).

The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies was present at a meeting of the African Telecommunications Union, during which African leaders sought to define a unique position for the continent in world-level decisions within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) .

It should also be noted that Mário Oliveira held meetings with high-level delegations from Turkey, Lithuania, South Africa, the United States of America and Azerbaijan, where he addressed collaboration issues in areas of mutual priority for the development of Telecommunications/ICT and for who have candidates for ITU leadership positions.
