More than 200 participants will be at the 2nd edition of the Angola Startup Summit, a national digital entrepreneurship event that will take place from April 27 to 29, under the motto “Innovation and Technology as immersion vectors for startups in Angola”.
According to the National Director for the economy and business promotion, from the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Nédio dos Santos, one of the objectives of the technological event is to turn "startups" into segments of service provision and production of various products, as well as to promote entrepreneurial literacy.
"We know that it is not enough to have an idea or to go to the market and then go bankrupt. Startups, when going to the market, must last to contribute to the growth of the national economy. We want to give startups a set of indicators, such as social, economic and financial”, said the representative of the ministry.

Nédio dos Santos also stressed that with the Angola Startup Summit, the Ministry of Economy and Planning wants to connect startups with various funding programs to successfully develop activities.
"We are inviting some funds, for example, the Ministry of Economy and Planning has a close relationship with Toyota which has a venture capital product. We are also going to invite the Capital Market Commission (CMC) which has emerging programs and aims to finance Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), via Crowdfunding (capital loan) and venture capital”, he informed.
The event will also feature ambassadors from various countries accredited in Angola, with the aim of transmitting the country's initiatives to their countries, in search of funding. The summit will also be attended by the Angolan student community in the diaspora, such as Portugal, Brazil and other countries to show their entrepreneurial projects.
