In recent times, the country has been relying on several payment systems, with the aim of making citizens' lives easier. We are talking about services such as banking applications developed by each of the banking entities, the Multicaixa Express, as well as others existing in our market.

Regardless of the existing applications/services, most already offer the possibility of making transfers in real time, but the National Bank of Angola is developing a service that will allow banking transactions to be carried out on Friday and Saturday mornings, the amounts will now be reflected in the beneficiaries' bank accounts the following day, through the Real Time Payment System (SPTR) 24/7.

According to the statement, the BNA explains that in October 2022 the first phase of the 24/7 Real-Time Payment System (SPTR) went into production, which allowed beneficiaries of transfer operations and payments made using a debit card Multicaixa, will now have the amounts relating to those operations reflected in their bank accounts on the next day.

On January 13, 2024, the second phase of the project went into production, which allowed beneficiaries to make transfers on Friday and Saturday mornings, via branches and remote channels (mobile and internet. The modernization of the Payment System Payments of Angola (SPA), driven by the dynamics of new payment services, assumes increasing importance in the daily lives of citizens and economic agents, through the provision of innovative financial products and services.

O Central Bank points out that, in this context, the BNA triggered a set of actions, in coordination with the Interbank Services Company (EMIS) and Commercial Banks, with a view to increasing the credibility, effectiveness and convenience of payments, with emphasis on making funds available in beneficiaries' accounts on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
