ANPG adopts national technological solution to monitor oil spills

The National Oil and Gas Agency (ANPG) will adopt the national tech-ecology solution to monitor spill prevention on the Angolan coast, namely the Tech-Ecology, from the National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN).

The information was revealed at the end of a visit by the chairman of the Board of Directors of ANPG, Paulo Jerónimo, to the premises of the GGPEN, in the municipality of Talatona, in Luanda. With the adoption of this technological solution, the national concessionaire of the oil sector will have reinforced its role as regulator and supervisor, insofar as it expands the ability to collect alerts in real time, in the event of spills in the national offshore.

According to the information, with the Tech-Ecology system it is possible to monitor a given oil block on a daily, weekly or on-demand basis, providing spill monitoring reports and access to the online monitoring tool, providing data on the frequency and extent of the area. affected by spills.

It should be noted that the ANPG already used Tech-Ecologia in “test” mode, where the Angolan institution received alerts on the occurrence of oil spills and data on the frequency and quantity of oil spilled in the national offshore.
