Since launching the 1 iPhone in 2007, Apple has been leading the smartphone market, always leaving behind its big rival to Samsung.

In this last weekend the market research institute ComScore released a new report based on the smartphone segment (based on US consumers). According to ComScore, the Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), continues to be the manufacturer that sells the most devices in the North American territory, having 41,4% of market share even with a small fall of 0,4% in relation to the last quarter. Samsung, which has been a global leader for some time, owns 27% of North American devices. Three manufacturers close the Top 5 very closely: LG (6,7%), Motorola (6,4%) and HTC (5,4%).

On platforms, Google remains on top with Android and Apple is second with iOS. While Google's mobile platform crashed several times in the past year, and started to lose share in early 2014, it has managed to recover and move on to Apple's platform in the past two months. Completing the first five we have the platforms of BlackBerry, Microsoft and Symbian.

In summary, the Android operating system represents 52,2% of the smartphone market in the United States - as has already been clear, the system has the advantage of being present in several devices from various manufacturers. Apple iOS already has 41,4% of smartphones and sees Windows Phone far away, with only 3,3%. The list completes the Blackberry (2,7%) and Symbian (0,2%).

Despite this, Android is the most widespread operating system in the country, with more than 50% of the market.
