Apple could cut production of 30s and 6s Plus by 6% in the first quarter of 2016. Even after all the bustle around the launch of the latest version of the company's Cupertino smartphone, eager customers and endless queues, the Japanese newspaper Nikkei reported that this decision was made due to the excess inventory in the stores of this particular device.

The fact that there were not enough consumers to buy the produced handsets, moved the investors causing the shares of the company to fall 2.5%. However, this new strategy will balance the number of devices available for sale.

In the middle of all this, it will not only be Apple that will reduce its production, its suppliers, among them Sony, Sharp and TDK will also follow the same path.

The decision has not yet been officially confirmed by Apple, but production is expected to return to normal as early as April this year.

Has the crisis just hit Apple?
