Blended, the platform that improves communication between schools and families with a simple technology has won the most prestigious award dedicated to startups from emerging economies. The startup will be entitled to up to $ 500.000 in capital investment.

The sixth edition of the Global Seedstars Summit featured more than 1000 people at the event in Lausanne, Switzerland along with startups, investors, mentors and companies from around the world. Winners of the local and regional competitions of 80 countries were invited by Seedstars. They had the chance to compete for several prizes, including up to $ 500 thousand in capital investment and the title of Seedstars Global Winner.

The Seedstars Summit is not just a conference but an opportunity for investors and entrepreneurs to benefit from a unique experience of practical growth. During the 2 and 3 days of April, startups participated in a two-day training with more than 60 experts.

In addition to the $ 500.000 investment award for Seedstars Global Winner, Seedstars and its partners have awarded 7 additional awards:

  1. Vaud Public Award:  YNMO of Saudi Arabia is a SaaS that enables providers of disability services, including schools, centers and clinics, to plan and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  2. A Labeskey / Schoolap, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, won the Transforming Education Award, gaining access to the $ 50.000 Seedstars Growth Program. The online platform provides tools to improve the educational system with school administration management modules.
  3. The TAG Heuer choose the Wobot to deliver the Innovation Award. The Indian startup allows companies to automate their surveillance systems with Artificial Intelligence.
  4. The Seedstars Vaccine Delivery Challenge was awarded to the South African startup Iyeza, by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The startup will have access to $ 10.000 to improve its web platform for the supply of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
  5. The Seedstars Malaria Challenge was Medsaf, through its platform, the Nigerian startup connects pharmacies and hospitals with safe and economical medicines.
  6. The Life Science Award went to Oxpecker Labs of Hong Kong. They will participate in the Merck Acceleration program and expand their non-invasive sweat sensor to help prevent dehydration.
  7. 7keema, the first on-demand nursing home service in Egypt, won the award Rising Tide Foundation Empowerment. They gained access to the Seedstars Growth Program as well as a capital investment.
