The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Manuel Homem, inaugurated last week, in Cabinda province, the Radioelectric Spectrum Management Monitoring Center of the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM).

The root infrastructure is located in the Tchizo neighbourhood, on the outskirts of the city of Cabinda, and aims to ensure the monitoring of the spectrum and any interference that may arise in civil aviation, in maritime service, in the use of radio broadcasting frequencies, something that the province lacked.

This inauguration of the Monitoring Center for Radioelectric Spectrum Management, in the province, means that Cabinda will no longer have radio frequency and telecommunications signal interference (mobile telephony) from the Democratic Republics of Congo and Congo, in the national telecommunications networks .

"INACOM has been working to normalize the operation of neighboring operators which, within the scope of operations, have a service overflow and conflict with the national networks”, said Manuel Homem.

According to the Minister, all the constraints that prevented the institution from controlling both radio frequency interference and telecommunications interference from operators in the two bordering countries, which occurred in the northernmost province of the country, were thus overcome.

As for its human capital, which will ensure the functioning of the centre, Manuel Homem said that, although the undertaking has already been inaugurated, the possibility of training local staff to carry out the same activity is not neglected.

"We want to assure the provincial government that the training of staff for the center is safeguarded, as it is also a priority of the Ministry we direct”, concluded the minister.
