Meet the Tanzanian project that uses an MP3 player to educate women

After you have launched the free video calling service, Tanzania now has another very interesting service for Women. This is the Tanzanian project uses a MP3 player powered by solar energy to educate women who can not read.

The project is under the control of a non-profit German social URIDU and the Tanzania Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, where it is being a solar powered MP3 device to provide health education to women who can not read in the rural areas of East Africa.

The said MP3forLife Player, is a solar device developed by URIDU, which contains more than 400 answers to questions about health, nutrition, family planning, child care, safety at work and other topics.

Second Felicitas Heyne (Psychologist and founder of URIDU), the MP3forLife Player project was built to educate, promote debate, and exchange experiences between groups. She also stressed that the idea is to provide basic knowledge to illiterate rural women, but also to create a team spirit among them.

The MP3forLife players are distributed free to women who need them with the assistance of NGOs in Tanzania.
