MenosFios Office: How to get the most out of Google search

1668

Are you one of those people who usually "ask whole questions" at the Google looking for an answer? Are you used to finding only Wikipedia or Yahoo Answers in the first few lines, and just because of that you feel satisfied?

The editorial staff of MenosFios thinks that maybe now it's a good idea for you to get to know some extra Google resources, because we are sure that with the tips that we are going to give below, in this Office, you can make visible some contents that seemed invisible.

So let's go.

USE THE KEY WORDS

When doing a Google search, we recommend not using prepositions, articles or other common themes. Simply focus on the keywords. And on the other hand, the order in which you write the words interferes with the results, so keep that in mind. Example: deep web dark net difference

DELETE A SPECIFIC WORD

You can use the minus sign (-) to remove a term you don't want to appear in your search (no space). Example: deep web – shocking

SEARCH FOR SYNONYMS

You can always widen your search radius by including the tilde sign (~) before a word, where Google will automatically look for similar terms (no spaces). Example: ~deep web

RESEARCH TOOLS

One feature you can use in your search is through the “Search Tools” button, which is just above the results. This button allows you to filter the results by date, language and other good possibilities.

INVESTIGATE SPECIFIC SITES

You can always search for results on just a single domain, where you just use the site operator (no spaces). Example: deep web site:www.menosfios.com

ASTERISK

If you don't know the name of something but have some small information, then you can use the asterisk (*). Example: “*author of the book the dark net”

SEARCH FOR DOCUMENTS

If you want your results to only find documents, then you can use the filetype operator, which will focus the search on specific types of files, such as PPT, DOC or PDF. Example: deep web filetype:pdf

TRY A FEW QUESTIONS

Maybe you don't know, but here's a secret: there are things that Google does in a very smart way. Try making an account –like (2+3)*5- or looking for a concept –define:internet– or also, finally, some conversions -1 mile in kilometers, 1 dollar in kwanzas.

QUOTES IN SPECIFIC PHRASES

Do you want to find a sentence exactly as it should appear on a page? So, you can use the word in quotes, and where you can use articles or prepositions. Example: “the Invisible Internet”.
