The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Moxico, dismantled a group of alleged fraudsters who acted using the technological application Multicaixa Express, with the aim of withdrawing monetary amounts from private bank accounts.
According to what was revealed by the SIC spokesman in the province, Elisiário dos Passos, the accused are part of a group of miscreants who carry out crimes of fraud in this region, having collected food goods, budgeted at one million and 429 thousand kwanzas, in the Alto Luena neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Luena.
From what was revealed, the suspects simulated payment to the owner of the said establishment, with an alleged transfer of values, via the Multicaixa Express application, to pay for the goods received.

Elisiário dos Passos said that this criminal practice tends to increase in the province.
It should be noted that scams through Multicaixa Express have been recurrent in recent times, so led EMIS to report the scams through the app.
A “famous” victim was the Angolan actor Silvio Nascimento, who lost thousands of kwanzas in the Multicaixa Express app due to a scam. Through a live, Sílvio Nascimento explained that, with the intention of updating the application, the fraudsters asked for his phone number, which he handed over, as he thought he was contacting the Multicaixa Express service. Two days later, the fraudsters, pretending to be EMIS employees, called to see the application's notifications update, to which Sílvio Nascimento, being a little distracted shopping, gave them the time to check the matter.
