Several university professors and technicians were recently trained in the field of distance learning, an efficient and flexible method, aligned with the demands of today's world, revealed the Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training cycle, the Secretary of State said that the objective is to continue to train teachers and technicians in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), with necessary technological and methodological tools that meet the needs of using media digital technologies in teaching and learning processes.

The inclusion of technicians from the ICT areas, he highlighted, guarantees sustainability in the implementation of B-Learning courses, a teaching methodology with the transmission of content remotely and in person.

"They are responsible for maintaining the virtual learning environment (online teaching platforms), through which students will have access to content", said.

The training was provided by Digital Factory, which trained 52 teachers and technicians from ten Higher Education institutions, located in the provinces of Benguela, Cuanza-Sul, Huíla, Luanda, Malanje and Namibe. The course also included face-to-face and distance learning classes. The coordinator of the UNI-AO program, Miriam Bacchin, said that the objective is to contribute to the diversification of the Angolan economy by supporting the training of qualified professionals in priority sectors for the country's development.

On the occasion, the representative of the European Union, Isabel Emerson, stated that the institution, as a global partner for Education, is committed to supporting Angola, giving priority to the promotion of digital technologies in the teaching and learning process.
