A Huawei announced its contest for African programmers called “Together we innovate“, which aims to enhance the capabilities of local mainland app developers and encourage teamwork to create a connected app ecosystem.

Programmers interested in the contest have until 18:00 on October 9, 2022, to submit their applications.

The competition for programmers is still in the wake of the Huawei Global App Innovation Contest (Apps UP), which starts in summer and runs until December 2022, where it will present exciting achievements at each stage.

Contest entrants must register or log in with a valid Huawei ID on the HUAWEI DEVELOPERS website before submitting their entry in ZIP or RAR format with a maximum file size of 200MB.

In eight categories, competitors can enter on their own or in teams of up to three people. Candidates must integrate their application with features or services open to HMS using the team leader account to be eligible.

Winners will be announced in December 2022, following a combination of public voting and an evaluation by judges who are leaders in their fields from each region.

BUT: Huawei and Ministry of Education Strengthen Cooperation

In recent times the Middle East and Africa region has been a rich terrain for application development, according to the Mastercard report.

With the help of UP Apps, developers from various countries can familiarize themselves with the core capabilities of HMS and integrate themselves into a prestigious ecosystem of mobile application developers.

HMS Core continues to develop cutting-edge experiences and multi-terminal, cross-OS, inventive capabilities and available on the scene, offering solutions for various industries.

As of March 2022, over 203.000 apps have been associated with HMS Core globally. In 2021, there were 5,4 million registered Huawei developers worldwide.

In addition to monetary prizes, developers will have access to seminars and development tools, the help of Huawei professionals and the possibility of having their winning applications featured on the AppGallery, one of the top three application stores in the world, with more 730 million users of Huawei mobile devices.

The preliminary round (top 30 candidates are chosen) will run from Monday, October 10th to November 7th.

The Public Review runs from Tuesday, November 8th to Sunday, November 20th.

The final presentation and award ceremony takes place in December.
