To survive in the battle of instant messaging applications you have to be flexible and captivate your audience. It's no use having apps on (almost) all platforms and forgetting the Web.
Microsoft understood this and in 2014 decided to launch the Skype for Web, in the beta version only a few invited users could test. In the new version, anyone can test.
What are the changes in this release?
- Skype for Web started to understand several languages, including Portuguese
- Search tool that allows you to find contacts more easily.
- Smart notifications, which will appear even when the user is browsing another page.
But what really matters are the conversations via video and voice. In a quick test, I had the impression that the quality of the transmissions is close to what is offered by Skype or Whatsapp.
What has not yet been implemented?
- Uploading files,
- Screen Sharing
- Contact Management
How to use?
Go to web.skype.com , if you have your “hotmail” account, I mean, “Outlook” open, login will be direct. To finish, you will need to install a plugin.
