Estonia expresses help to Angola in electronic governance

Estonia wants to share its experience in electronic governance with Angola, according to the country's President, Alar Karis, speaking at the Executive Seminar on Digital Government, organized by Institute for Administrative Modernization (IMA).

"Since our independence, electronic governance has helped us to develop and increasingly strengthen our economy and has also allowed the creation of jobs, as well as public-private partnerships.”, said the President in a joint press conference with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

In his speech, Alar Karis, invited the Angolan authorities to gather experiences on the digitalization process implemented in that Northern European country.

BUT: Digitalization of Public Administration is an “irreversible path”

It should be noted that Estonia is helping Angola in matters of blue economy and green technology – to protect the oceans –, as part of cooperation between the two countries, according to that country's ambassador to Africa, Daniel Schaer.

Estonia is one of the main countries supporting digital transition in Angola, stating that it will reduce time and cost to the citizen, providing only the service that is considered necessary, in addition to adding value and, above all, ensuring that the citizen finds a safe and cohesive service.
