According to information obtained by the (always reliable) team at The Verge, Google comes up with a proposal to rival Apple TV. The name of this new device could not be another “Android TV".
Google's unsuccessful old project was a computing platform disguised as a TV, that is, a computer that received third-party content, such as Google TV. With the new project, Google goes down to earth and will try to do what others have done, create an entertainment interface using the Android TV.
How will Android TV work?
There is no secret, the operating system will be the Android. Hence the name.
The interface is quite simple, with cards grouped into categories: movies, program, aplicativos e games. To navigate between categories, a remote control with a directional base will be used, allowing you to choose options in all four directions. In addition, the remote control will also have buttons Enter, Home e Back . For game lovers, Google will release optional commands.
Android TV will also have notifications (new programs, new games, movies ...) and the possibility to be controlled by voice commands.
But the secret weapon of this Google “box” will be the simplicity and speed. If they achieve this feat, they may have a chance to compete equitably with Apple TV and the company.
