The next Brazilian government, which will be led by Lula da Silva, starting on January 1 of next year, is studying formulas to reduce the cost of Internet access at home, said Paulo Bernardo, member of the group that takes care of Telecommunications from Lula da Silva's Transition team.

According to Paulo Bernardo, the priority is citizens linked to the Single Registry for Social Programs Government mechanism.

"We study ways to make service packages cheaper, with a focus on home broadband, with fiber optics. We are suggesting starting there.“, said Bernardo to the newspaper O Globo.

The former minister underlined that, according to analyzes carried out and a round of contacts with the main Internet connection providers, the Brazil it has the necessary infrastructure, so it will not be necessary to invest in building more, but in lowering tariffs.

Lula de Silva's team is evaluating some alternatives to offset the cost of Internet access, such as tax cuts or an extra payment in the Auxílio Brasil program, which should be renamed Bolsa Família.

However, Paulo Bernardo stressed that “the policy is at an early stage and is not yet a program because other areas still need to be heard, and will be deepened after the constitution of the new Government".

  "Govern for all Brazilians"

Lula da Silva is on the countdown to take office, having promised, yesterday, “a government for all Brazilian men and women".

In a publication made on the social network Twitter, Lula guarantees that he will face the challenges – which he assumes “will be many” – “with work and responsibility towards the people and the future".

"There are 21 days left for the inauguration. As of January 1st, we will have a government for all Brazilian men and women. We will face the challenges, which we know will be many, with work and responsibility towards the people and the future. Good Morning!“, wrote the President-elect.

Last Friday, the still Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, broke his silence after about 40 days, after having lost the presidential elections: “It hurts, it hurts in the soul. I have always been a happy person among you, even risking my life among the people”.

"I take responsibility for my mistakes, but I ask you: do not criticize without being absolutely sure of what is happening“, asked Bolsonaro to his supporters who were present at the Presidential Palace.

On the same day, Lula presented Fernando Haddad as the future Minister of Finance, as well as the names in Defense, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Civil House, the first confirmed for the future Government.

The future finance minister of Brazil, Fernando Haddad, said, however, that his priorities will be to promote fiscal reform and ratify the trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and Mercosur.
