The Public Administration is the main consumer of Communication and Information Technologies (ICT) in the country, according to the president of the Angolan Association of Information and Communication Technologies (APETIC), João Cazola.

Speaking at the closing of a technology fair, held by the Faculty of Engineering of the Catholic University of Angola (UCAN), in reference to World Telecommunications Day, the President informed that, along with the Public Administration, there is also the case of citizens who use social networks more and institutions that use ICT to manage their tasks in companies in an automated way, which configures gains for society and the economy itself.

As for the disadvantages of information technologies, João Cazola mentioned that it is more in the use of social networks, since many use them to spread information through WhatsApp or other supports that are not favorable, instead of using them for useful questions and that contribute to personal good, economic growth and society.

BUT: Telecommunications operators are already migrating services to Angosat-2

The other disadvantage is that some hackers use the Internet to clone websites or information, putting the interests and assets of a citizen or a company at risk.

With the presence of journalists from MenosFios, the Technology Fair of the Faculty of Engineering of UCAN had lecture sessions, aimed at Telecommunications and IT students, with approaches on Angosat-2, Sustainability and Opportunities for the Country, Satellite Technology for the Study of Territory and Environmental Conservation, Digital Transformation, Challenges and Opportunities in Higher Education and World Telecommunications Day.

It should also be noted that the event discussed approaches related to the Information Society, the Importance of Cybersecurity, Demystifying the Cloud, as well as a Comparative Study of Telephony Prices in the CPLP, SADC and CEEAC, Digital Television and its implementation in the world and in Angola.
