The Angolan Government has implemented a New General Consular Management System (SIGGEC), in order to ensure greater integration and interoperability of consular services, as well as with the aim of raising the quality of consular services provided to Angolan citizens in the diaspora.

The new technological software was developed by Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA), which has already begun to be implemented in several consular institutions, with emphasis on the General Consulates of Angola in Lisbon, Porto, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria and Dubai.

SIGGEC was developed with the objective of guaranteeing the security of the information produced by the Diplomatic and Consular Missions (MDCs) in a national and centralized technological infrastructure. This implementation aims to eliminate dependence on fragmented technological systems in the consular management process, thus ensuring Angola's digital sovereignty.
