The Angolan Government will apply severe penalties for cyber crimes, with a view to dissuading aggressors and criminals from this practice, according to the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior.
The Observatory, he clarified, will coordinate cybersecurity initiatives across the country, monitor and respond to cyber threats in real time, as well as guarantee the supply and processing of data with a view to creating increasingly consistent and realistic public policies.
The Minister of State for Economic Coordination defended that companies and government organizations should invest in training their employees in cybersecurity matters, to ensure that they are aware of the risks and know how to contribute to the protection of company data.
Manuel Nunes Júnior also warned Forum participants that cybersecurity should not be seen as an issue to be resolved only by the Executive. “It is everyone's responsibility, as citizens and users of the cyber world, and only together will they be able to find the best solutions to foster a culture of cybersecurity in institutions and companies, adopting the best cyber hygiene practices and investing in issues related to digital security. and physics among other actions”, he considered.
