Huawei highlighted its innovative capabilities, winning several awards at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC), which took place in Barcelona and online from June 28th to July 01st. The world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry, the Mobile World Congress plays a crucial role in defining space strategy over the next year.

AA Huawei has been playing a central role at MWC for some time and the 2021 edition was no exception. Speaking at the event, Ryan Ding, President of Huawei's Carrier Business Group, highlighted that 5G – an area in which Huawei is a leading player – is already demonstrating its potential in several markets, but added that there is still room for more innovation .

Ding pointed to the progress of 5G technology in China and South Korea, where Huawei's research showed that launch is already 20 times faster than 4G, with subscribers reaching 390 million in its home market.

Between 2021 and 2025, Ding added that the combination of ICT and 5G digital infrastructure will drive economic growth of €1,9 billion in China and €130 billion in South Korea, figures that prove that operators are becoming engines for national economies.

“We still need continuous 5G innovation, we still need to expand our system, coordinate telecom standards and integrate 5G into our core production process,” he says. “5G innovation is an ongoing process and this is just the beginning.”

The event also saw Huawei launch a series of 5G products and solutions to promote multi-antenna technology for all bands and all scenarios, aiming to build core 5G networks.

Driven by industry-leading innovation, these newly launched products and solutions are all unique in their model. They include the industry's lightest massive 64T64R MIMO, BladeAAU Pro, the industry's only 64T A+P solution, BladeRRU Pro, the industry's only RF unit that supports three low and three mid bands, and the industry's only massive MIMO commercial FDD .

Yang Chaobin, president of Huawei's wireless product line, said: “Our aim is to support operators in efficiently deploying 5G networks and providing world-class experience. Huawei will work with global partners to innovate and share 5G benefits with everyone.”

Huawei's 5G achievement has won several awards, including 'Best Mobile Network Infrastructure' in the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards for your BladeAAU product. Huawei launched the industry's first BladeAAU product in 2019 to help operators overcome deployment challenges related to insufficient antenna space.

The judges said the following about the Huawei series for BladeAAU: "It stands out as a vital enabler for operators deploying 5G, ensuring commercially important spectrum support for years to come."
