The Radioelectric Spectrum Inspection and Monitoring Center was inaugurated in the eastern region of the country, in the city of Saurimo (Lunda Sul), which is under the supervision of Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM).

The facility, which features modern technology, responds to the technological evolution that the country has experienced in recent years, particularly in the eastern region of Angola, in terms of the provision of postal services and electronic communications.

According to Pascoal Fernandes, Secretary of State for Telecommunications, Information Technologies, the technical infrastructure will provide the Electronic Communications Regulatory Body with the technical capacity to efficiently manage the spectrum in the province, in addition to minimizing interference.

The public manager also reiterated that with the new facilities equipped with current technology, the regional center also gains enough capacity to inspect and monitor other services such as radio broadcasting, aeronautical communications and mobile telephone services.

BUT: Angola has a National Communications Monitoring Center

Finally, Pascoal Fernandes stressed that this undertaking will create a market environment that will attract more private national and foreign investment in the electronic communications sector to the country, and Lunda Sul in particular.

The deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector, Mendes Gaspar, while also speaking at the inauguration event of the Center for Inspection and Monitoring of the Radioelectric Spectrum, said that now the province has just entered a new era, praising the efforts of the Executive in accomplishing this feat.

He also said that the modernization of these services must be aligned with the reinforcement of personnel in different areas, as their training allows.
