The Angolan delegation, which will represent our country in the 73rd edition of the Ideas, Inventions and New Products Fair (iENA 2022), taking place in the city of Nuremberg, from October 29 to November 4 of this year, is already in Germany since the early hours of this Thursday (27).

The national team is led by Professor Mateus Padoca Calado, from the Agostinho Neto University, and where it did not arrive in the city of Nuremberg with the number of members originally planned, as some had given up on the trip.

According to what was revealed, the withdrawal was due to the fact that they were unable to get sponsorships to cover the expenses of traveling to that European country and participating in the fair, one of the oldest in the world in the field of technologies and innovation.

"It's hard to notice the lack of support in recent years", said the professor, who, before leaving for Germany, informed journalists that, due to the withdrawal of some, he still did not know the number of members, admitting that it could be between six and ten people representing the country, also known as the Nuremberg Fair.

The innovative creations are mostly by students and professors from the Agostinho Neto and United Methodist Universities (UMA), some of which are individual authors and others in co-authorship. In the list of creations, there are also creators not linked to institutions, being considered “free inventors".

It should be noted that in addition to representatives from Agostinho Neto and Methodist de Angola universities, the delegation also includes members of Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University, the Provincial Government of Namibe, the Angolan Computing Society (SAC) and Seaka – Casa de Caminho André Luís.

Angola has participated, since 2009, in the Nuremberg Fair and won, until last year, 87 medals, 21 gold, 31 silver and 35 bronze.
