Young Angolans must invest in technological, technical and professional training, in order to guarantee self-employment, through entrepreneurial initiatives, according to the deputy governor of Uíge for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, Sónia Cahombo.

Speaking at the opening act of 3rd edition of the Technological Innovation Fair, an event that aimed to discover talents in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the region, said that the Angolan Government is aware that, as there is no capacity to absorb everyone in the job market, young people, with knowledge in technology, They can create their own business or micro-enterprises and can also employ others who are waiting for an opportunity.

The governor valued the initiative, promoted by FETFOPE (Technical Education, Professional Training and Entrepreneurship Fairs), as, she said, it serves as an opportunity for entrepreneurs and students from various technical education and vocational training schools to exchange experiences and present projects, products and services.

 "We thank FETFOPE for the project, because young people will be able to show the country and beyond everything they are learning in technical schools, so they can have a job in the future”, he said, recalling further that in the province of Uíge there are several projects that are contributing to the professional training of young people, many of which are already included in different sectors.

"We have very satisfactory data, because many young people have found jobs and the income has been used to support themselves and their families.”, highlighted the vice-governor, who visited and spoke to most of the 100 exhibitors.

Some exhibitors, particularly the inventors, approached by Jornal de Angola, did not hide their satisfaction at having the opportunity to present their creations and technological projects.

Manuel Kuyeka, 19 years old, who is part of a group of students from the Instituto Médio Politécnico do Uíge, called “Manuel Quarta Punza”, who took to the fair an electric peanut grinder, made from recycled materials, said that the equipment , valued at 375 thousand kwanzas, has a battery and an alternator, and can be used in areas where there is no electricity.

Another group of students from the same institute presented, at the fair, a “Software”, which can help farmers in determining the appropriate periods for planting and harvesting, as well as the nature of the soil for planting different products.
