Katapult is now launching its Katapult Africa Accelerator Program, in partnership with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Norrsken and Smart Africa, with the aim of investing in impact-oriented African startups within agrifood and climate technology across our continent.
According to the official note, one of the reasons for creating this program is that Africa is now preparing to tread its development path with the purpose of starting the next wave of impact technology. For Katapult, the continent has the opportunity to become a world leader in the sectors of food, climate and agro-technology, therefore, not only helping to satisfy the demands of global consumption, but doing so in an equitable and sustainability, as well as recognizing the opportunity and potential that African markets represent, Katapult and its partners launch this accelerator program.
The Africa Accelerator Program will take a holistic approach, investing in and helping to scale startups that innovate within the linked fields of agri-food and climate technology.
The program will last for a period of 3 months and will have a hybrid format where participants will have the opportunity to participate in the program both digitally and on-site in Kigali, Rwanda.
The program will seek to accelerate and invest in up to 15 startups and also run a pre-accelerator program with over 30 other technologically innovative projects, present in our continent.
The Katapult Africa Accelerator Program will focus on African agriculture, food and climate solutions, and Katapult strongly encourages startups working in the following areas to apply:
