A Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings, a technological company in the health area will launch a smart brush for hair. An accessory that will be accompanied by an application that transforms the information collected into personalized advice to help people take better care of their hair.

The intelligent brush allows, through data collection, to measure hair quality. It consists of sensors that allow you to monitor the effects of different capillary routines, that is, the quality of the hair and the consequences of everything we do (paintings, brushing, smoothing irons, etc.).

The smart brush also has load cells that measure the force applied to hair and capillary leather when it is brushed, with an accelerometer and gyroscope that help count the number of times the hair is brushed and conductivity sensors to determine if the brush is being used on dry or wet hair.

The brush is considered clever because:

  • it has a microphone that listens to the sound of hair brushing to identify patterns and transmit information about the malleability of the hair.
  • Contains three-axis charge cells that measure the force applied to the hair and scalp when the hair is brushed.
  • It has sensors to determine if the brush is to be used on dry or wet hair, in order to give correct directions.
All information is sent to smartphones via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The brand app shows a diagnosis about the condition of your hair. The smart brush will hit the market in the second half of the year. The price has not yet been announced.
Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings, was one of the great winners of this year's International Innovation Award CES 2017, which every year presents consumers with new technology products with unprecedented design and engineering.
