Liquid S2, the first 4K camera phone

Liquids S2I like cinema as taste, several times I have commented with friends that I would like to have a TV above 60 inches in my living room, but calm, it is not any TV, a 4K UHD TV (Ultra High Definition Television). If it's to dream let's dream high right? (I.e.

But while we still do not have "nice" prices in the pocket of the common mortals, I just read and see what is appearing on the subject. Surprisingly I saw that Acer has announced that it will launch the world's first smartphone with a 4K camcorder, Liquid S2. But is the market ready for an 4K camera on a mobile phone?

I believe that this "be the first"Launching a product of the genre could mean a marketing move by Acer that as everyone will show that it has the best camera in the market and make comparative videos with the iPhone camera, and blah blah blah, practices that are already starting to be cliché. But on the other hand, it will not make the phone expensive enough for a company that has been trying very shyly to enter the smartphone market heavily dominated by Samsung, Apple and then with a smaller slice of LG and HTC? If Acer is able to present prices that can compete with the main players in the market, are we ready and want a 4K camera phone? Or do we care? In order to film in 4K (about 4.000 lines) and be able to explain the advantages of a 4K camera, if we still see TV mostly with standard quality 576 lines and our most powerful TVs owned by a minority worldwide have 720 or 1080 lines at most.

Okay, call Acer innovative and no one can judge you to be risking, just getting a camera / lens that 4K film on a mobile phone is something extraordinary, but recently Nokia used the same technique in Lumia 1020 (Read: Nokia Lumia 1020, will it be the life buoy?) releasing a mobile phone with a powerful camera with 41 Megapixels resolution, but after the big event of the release, someone came back to hear about it? So, will you put Acer there?

Well, let's leave our opinions aside and let's talk about Liquid S2. It has 6 inches, a rear camera of 13megapixels (with ability to shoot in 4K) and a frontal of 2 megapixels (with capacity to shoot in Full HD 1080p), processor SoC Snapdragon 800 with 2,2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, a battery of 3300 mAh and of course 4G LTE.

The price? It has not yet been announced and there are no release dates. Let's wait and see if Acer's bet on the camera will not significantly affect the price and leave it on the shelf.
